#meetyourinstructormonday Missi Brady: Missi has been with Beverly Ride On since 2007. She is also a certified Zumba Instructor. She received her training in 2010 through Zumba Fitness. In addition to Zumba classes, Missi also does Zumba Dance Birthday Parties for children and adults. Missi is a graduate of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, Illinois and graduated with a Bachlors of Science in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science from Illinois State University. She is also the Office/Business Manager of Core Fitness and Physical Therapy. In addition to being employed by Beverly Ride On and Core Fitness, she is also the Head Coach of the JV Dance Team at Marist High School
#meetyourinstructormonday Melissa Burke: Melissa has taught at Beverly Ride On for over 10 years. She believes spinning is a great tool for keeping a healthy mind and body. Her main focus is on using your heart rate for an efficient and effective ride. Melissa is also a Pilates instructor, trained in Thai Yoga Massage, and the Be Activated Technique. If you are interested in taking one of her classes, she teaches on Tuesdays at 9:30am, Wednesdays at 8:30 am and a Threshold Ride on Thursdays at 6:30pm (threshold ride: Slowly increasing your strength and endurance, while improving your Cardiovascular System).
#meetyourinstructormonday Debbie Furlong: Debbie is a Spinning instructor who will inspire you to reach your personal best, while challenging you to transform your body. Certified through Madd Dog Athletics in 2010, she became passionate after spinning for a several years at Beverly Ride On (BRO). A lifelong resident of Chicago’s Southside, Debbie is a great asset to BRO. She particularly loves the personal attention and the dedication each instructor demonstrates in meeting the individual needs of each participant in each class. Whether you are a beginner, seasoned rider, or somewhere in between, expect a challenging workout, energizing music and a motivating class that will leave you feeling exhilarated. As the mother of three active boys, her goal is to make every person, regardless of their fitness level, age, body type, or experience feel comfortable during class and feel accomplished when they leave. The music in her class is the driving beat to keep the energy in the room up, songs that will give you that extra push whether climbing or sprinting. Her love for all types of music is her driving force for her rides. Her classes are focused around energy and music creating an enthusiastic environment for all riders! When the music, energy, and endurance flows this will help you reach your fitness goals while having a fun and challenging ride! If you are looking to attend one of Debbie’s classes, she teaches on Wednesdays at 4:30pm.
#meetyourinstructormonday Cathy O’Donnell Conjar: Cathy’s indoor cycling career began when she needed a low-impact way to cross train for a marathon. She fell in love with spinning after her first class, and became an instructor several years later. She has taught at Beverly Ride On for over ten years, and has recently integrated weight training into her class for a full body workout. Cathy is a graduate of Mother McAuley High School on Chicago’s south side, and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from Arizona State University. She has competed in four marathons, and qualified and ran the Boston Marathon in 1998. She is also a Pilates instructor with extensive education through Core in Training. Her coursework included anatomy and physiology, as well as the reformer, Split Pedal Chair and mat work. For the past six years, she has taught both private and group sessions at Core Fitness and Physical Therapy. Her philosophy towards exercise is to challenge yourself, listen to your body and have fun. As the mother of five, she realizes the importance of taking care of yourself, for both your mind and your body. If you are interested in taking one of Cathy’s classes, you can stop by her spin sculpt class on Thursday mornings at 8:30am. In her spin sculpt class you can expect to ramp up your ride with the addition of weights & bands to put your upper body to work! The goal is to build a lean & toned upper body while enjoying a kick butt lower body workout. You will also find Cathy in the Saturday spin rotation.
